Tim’s style of cooking is classical, with the emphasis on taste and seasonality. There are no froths or foams but delicious, meticulously sourced ingredients – (many locally sourced). He cooks precisely to order and we ask how you wish meat to be cooked.
Tim has been joined this year by our younger son Olly in the kitchen. Olly has always been helping in the kitchen and produced a mean scrambled egg at the age of 11. He is now a key member of our team- always coming up with ideas and keeping us on our toes. We enjoy seeing him rapidly gaining the skills and rather annoyingly developing his fathers OCD traits for perfection!!
Wine has always been a passion, and we consider the wine list to be an extremely important part of the Little Barwick House experience. The Wine List (AA Wine Award Finalist each year since 2002), has been carefully chosen with many exciting wines, in half and full bottles from exceptional value Vin de Pays and New World wines to realistically priced Grand Cru Classé Clarets and Burgundies. It would be a pleasure to help match these wines with your meal and to introduce you to a new wine rather than your “old favourites”.
We are also now the proud owners of a new Le Verre de Vin preservation system which will allow us to offer exceptional and rare wines by the glass including Krug Champagne - quite unique really for a small restaurant in rural Somerset. This new addition is something we know that guests will enjoy giving lots of extra choice off our wine list by the glass.
